Story

Seaman accompanied Lewis and Clark from the Mississippi to the Pacific and back, appearing repeatedly in expedition records.

The archive records his work, injuries and special status rather than reducing him to a mascot.

Seaman is archived because exploration histories also contain animal labour and endurance.
