Early morning shooting and removal
At around 3 a.m. on March 31, 2026, an incident of harm to kittens raised indoors occurred in Tianhe District, Guangzhou City. The "Handpal APP Official Weibo" reprinted on the Sina page stated that the illegal perpetrator Lin Mouliang shot from the road into the residence on the first floor at the door of the first floor. After shooting and injuring the kitten raised indoors, he entered the residence without authorization and took the injured kitten away.
The public page shows that on April 1, the victim cat owner received an administrative penalty decision issued by the public security agency. The decision stated: Lin Mouliang was given an administrative penalty of three days of administrative detention; one slingshot and two steel balls, the tools for committing the crime, were confiscated. In other words, the publicly visible processing results already include administrative disposal of harmful behaviors and related tools.
A supposedly safe living space
The cruelty of this incident was not only that the kitten was injured by a slingshot and a steel ball, but also that the injuries occurred in a home where the cat was supposed to stay safely. Indoor animals do not have the ability to understand a sudden attack, let alone defend themselves.
Shooting at a kitten in a house and taking it away after it was injured shows a double disregard for the lives of animals and the boundaries of other people's lives. The kitten’s suffering should not be reduced to a three-day detention; she was attacked in her own space and deserves to be long remembered.
